About Us

The Linen Society of Africa (LiSA)

Who We Are

The Linen Society of Africa (LiSA) is the continental professional and governing body established to transform, regulate, and elevate Africa’s linen value chain. We exist to strengthen standards, promote best practices, and drive sustainable growth in linen production, processing, and utilization across healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, and institutional sectors.

LiSA serves as the mother organization and governing authority of Linen Day Africa, providing strategic leadership, policy direction, and long-term development frameworks that unify stakeholders across the continent.

Our Mandate

LiSA was founded to address critical gaps in Africa’s linen ecosystem—ranging from weak production capacity and fragmented value chains to hygiene risks, operational inefficiencies, and limited professional standards. Our mandate is to provide a coordinated, knowledge-driven, and African-centered response that supports quality, safety, sustainability, and economic development.

We work closely with farmers, manufacturers, laundries, healthcare facilities, hospitality businesses, governments, development partners, and investors to create a resilient and competitive linen industry.

Why Linen Matters

Linen plays a critical role in healthcare, hospitality, and institutional environments. Poor linen management leads to:

  • High replacement and operational costs
  • Environmental pollution
  • Reduced service quality

LiSA exists to ensure linen is treated not merely as fabric—but as a critical system that affects safety, dignity, comfort, and economic performance.

Linen Day Africa
